The Customer:
Cost-sensitive customer with high quality requirements
The Task:
Making slidable buttons
The Problem:
The buttons are made as two component parts. They are subjected to
100% testing, which must be cost-competitive.
The Solution:
Set up a high-precision production system with testing by weighing,
in a loop that does not impact on cycle time.
The Outcome:
The electronic parts are produced on a KM 80-390 CX. They are
demolded by an IR 200 F industrial robot mounted on the floor
beside the injection moulding machine. To check that both
components have been correctly injected, the robot removes the
sprue and then deposits all parts from one shot on the scale.
Non-OK parts are diverted to a reject chute. OK parts leave the
cell via four, cavity-specific chutes.
