The Problem:

Ensuring repeatable quality in the production of pipettes with very high specifications for hygiene and geometry

The Solution:

A cleanroom application including injection moulding machine and industrial robot - one of KraussMaffei's core competences.

The Outcome:

The pipettes are made on a KM 50-110 hybrid machine in a manufacturing cell with a Class 7 cleanroom. The machine has an electric injection unit and ejector. It can be uncoupled from the cleanroom for service and maintenance. The cleanroom-compliant industrial robot demoulds 18 pipettes at a time using a simple, functional gripper. The parts are checked for correct shape and aperture in an inspection station. Good parts leave the cleanroom cell via a manifold tunnel that separates the cavities.
