The Customer:

The SIG Combibloc Group is an international leader in the manufacture of aseptic carton packaging for fresh and longlife foods and beverages. SIG allCap, a company in the group, located in Neuhausen am Rheinfall, develops and manufactures high-quality, advanced closure systems.

The Task:

To develop and manufacture easy-open, easy-pour closures for post-mould assembly and fitting to beverage cartons.

The Challenge:

To manufacture a product meeting these requirements with short cycle times and high yield, very low machine downtime and consistently good product quality.

The Solution:

Injection moulding on complex configurations of KM-180/390C3 and KM-280/1000C3 KraussMaffei injection moulding machines.

The Outcome:

The closures offer consumers maximum convenience. Despite very high output, the processing window made it possible to make an optimal choice of raw material and achieve constant product quality. This new closure strengthens SIG allCap's leading position in the specialist field of opening and pouring solutions for beverage cartons.
